European Congress on Odonatology 2012 will be held in the Hall of Foundation of Ilija M. Kolarac (address: Student trg 5, 11000 Belgrade (KML file), web address: http://www.kolarac.rs/). In the area nearby, you will be able to find many cultural and historical sites, restaurants, a pedestrian zone in the city center and a shopping district.
The choice of accommodation is left to the participants of the congress. There are many hotels and hostels that are available to you near the Foundation of Ilija M. Klarac (information about them can be found in section LINKS / Travelers info / Tourist organization of Belgrade of our site - http://www.nhmbeo.rs/ecoo2012_-_links.303.html).
The organizer undertakes to organize the accommodation in the budget category in a floating hostel Arkabarka (KML file, web address: http://www.arkabarka.net/). If we manage to fill in the hostel facilities during the congress, we will get even more attractive prices of accommodation (bed and breakfast). Interested participants will be able to choose one of two directions of movement to the Mediterranean - through Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Adriatic Sea or through Macedonia (FYR) to the Aegean Sea. More details on these routes, interested parties will be able to get from the organizers, Despina Kitanova (Macedonia) and Dejan Kulijer (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Odonatological Book Fair
One of the ways to improve communication and knowledge on the Odonata of Europe is to ensure the availability of odonatological literature. For that purpose we will organize the Odonatological Book Fair (OBF). The fair will be organized at the same time as one of the poster sessions and participants will be able to talk about, share or order publications. The concept of the fair is based on the fact that participants should bring the literature that is available in their countries and thus help their colleagues from other parts of Europe to acquire titles that are relatively less accessible.

The Natural History Museum in Belgrade and The Entomological Society of Serbia are pleased to announce that European Congress on Odonatology (ECOO) 2012 will take place in Belgrade (Serbia) on July 2-6th 2012.
Congress in Belgrade will be the second in the row of gatherings dedicated to exchange and spread of knowledge on Western Palaearctic Odonata. The first European Congress on Odonatology was held on the western edge of Europe, in Porto (Portugal) in 2010. This time we will meet on the Southeast of European continent, on the border between Balkan Peninsula and Pannonian plains. Lectures and presentations on different topics preferably connected with W Palaearctic Odonata are welcomed. We would like to encourage early submissions of themes/abstracts of your lectures in order to prepare seminars. Participation of students in work of the Congress is one of the missions of ECOOs.
During the Congress week we plan to organize an Odonatological book fair (OBF) in order to ease access to contemporary literature and to promote publications of general, regional and local importance. In that spirit we would like to ask you to join this initiative by bringing your own publications or publications available in your country. Thank you in advance. ECOO 2012 will be followed by field excursions to different parts of Balkans and southern Pannonia.
Sharing these informations with your colleagues and friends would greatly improve our common efforts to associate people with interest in Odonata. We hope to hear from you soon.
Vidimo se u Beogradu!
