Exhibition “Let’s touch the Nature 2” opened at Kruševac
The visiting tactile exhibition “Let’s touch the Nature 2” was open at the National Museum in Kruševac on November 12th 2010 at 8 p.m. The objects chosen for this exhibition represent the extensive diversity of natural objects that may be easily distinguished by tactile sense.
Some of the specimens are exhibited for the very first time. They have exceptional scientific and cultural importance of international scope.
Texts and labels were also prepared in Braille alphabet in order to accommodate persons with special needs.
The exhibition was open with speeches by Director of National Museum in Kruševac, M. Sci. Ljubiša Vasiljević, and the authors, M. Sci. Gordana Jovanović, museum advisor, and Dragana Đurić, curator of Natural History Museum.
The exhibit was prepared and realized by Zoran Vujčić, conservator.
The exhibition with stay open for a month.

Exhibition “Fishes of Southern Adriatic” open at the Cultural Center Vršac
On Thursday, September 23rd 2010, the traveling exhibition “Fishes of Southern Adriatic” was open with a ceremony in the Cultural Center Vršac at Sterijina 62. This exhibit includes 93 specimens of fishes collected in period 1990-2000 in the southern part of Adriatic, at the Montenegrin coast. All the specimens were conserved in the conservation laboratory of Natural History Museum. Most exhibited species belong to cartilaginous fishes – sharks and rays. More than half of 54 species inhabiting waters of South Adriatic are represented at this exhibition. The most attractive specimens include: thrasher shark (4m in length), Blue Shark, female Hound Shark with 16 young, Sharpnose Sevengill Shark (5 m in length), Thornback Ray, Brown Ray, electric rays etc. The visitors would be also interested in 30 specimens of commercial fish species: tuna (3.9 m long), dentex, mackerel, Leerfish, anglerfish, oarfish, swordfish, sea horse etc. The exhibition will be open until October 18th 2010. The fishes will stay in Banat even after this date! More information later.

Exhibition “Darwin and Radovanović brothers” open at Subotica
Meeting in Subotica
The exhibition “Darwin and Radovanović brothers”, by authors M. Sci. Marina Mučalica and Dragica Stojić, was open at the Town Museum of Subotica on September 3rd 2010. The meeting of Section of Museum Librarians and Bookkeepers was organized in the Museum on the same day.
The panel discussion “Echoes” was organized on September 4th 2010 at the Town Museum in Subotica. There were nine printed papers and seven lecturers have presented their work.
The exhibition was opened by the Ištvan Hulo, Director of Town Museum of Subotica, Slavko Spasić, Director of Natural History Museum, and author, M. Sci. Marina Mučalica.
The two-day celebration was enhanced by presence of one of sisters of Radovanović brothers, Anka, as well as Danica Ćirković and Vladimir Ortakovski.
It is planned that scheduled visits for students will include the presentation of DVD “Forgotten Radovanović brothers”.

Exhibition “Darwin and Radovanović brothers” visiting Kragujevac
The guest exhibition “Darwin and Radovanović brothers” by authors M. Sci. Marina Mučalica and Dragica Stojić will be open in period August 19th – 27th 2010, in cooperation between the Natural History Museum in Belgrade and Students’ Cultural Center from Kragujevac.
More than 100 years have passed since the death of Radovanović brothers and many things have changed since, but the main principles of big pillars of science, strongly supported by excellent translators Mihailo (1840–1863), Milan (1849–1878) and Aleksa (1852–1875) Radovanović, remained unchanged. Although they did not have the good luck to live long lives, Radovanović brothers are more important for Serbian literature than many other names mentioned on its pages, not only as pioneers and propagators of natural sciences and materialistic perspective of the world, but also due to the literary quality of their works. The panel posters will present the life and creative opus of Radovanović brothers and their eternal resting place...
The DVD presentation “Forgotten Radovanović brothers” by M. Sci. Marina Mučalica will take place during the opening ceremony. The digital recording represents an attempt to bring to the public everything they wrote and translated, so everyone can access it and keep it from being forgotten. This monograph includes the complete published opus (scanned and accessible for reading and printing) of Radovanović brothers. It was published on November 24th 2009, exactly 150 years after the first publishing of Darwin’s capital work “Origin of species” in England. Among the other works, the DVD includes the first translations of following works: “Justinian’s institutions”, Charles Darwin’s “Origin of species through natural selection”, Ernst Haeckel’s “The history of creation”…

Exhibition “Let’s touch the Nature 2” open in Ćuprija
The new tactile exhibition of Natural History Museum “Let’s touch the Nature 2”, by authors M. Sci. Gordana Jovanović, Miodrag Jovanović and Dragana Đurić, was open on Wednesday, June 16th 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Museum “Horeum Margi” in Ćuprija. This is the second exhibition by Natural History Museum that is erasing all borders between the visitors and the exhibited specimens. The exhibition was open by introductory words by: Miss Negovanka Stevanović from Association for Cerebral Palsy – Paraćin, Tane Petrović - Director of Museum in Ćuprija, Slavko Spasić – Director of Natural History Museum, M. Sci. Gordana Jovanović, museum advisor - author of the exhibition, and Danica Milošević-Jović, curator of Museum in Ćuprija.
The exhibition will be open until September 10th 2010. An access ramp was placed at the entrance of the Museum building in order to enable easy access to persons with special needs. Visits are free of charge.

Exhibition “Let’s touch the Nature 2” will be open in Ćuprija
The new tactile exhibition “Let’s touch the Nature 2” will be open in cooperation by the Natural History Museum in Belgrade and Museum Horeum Margi from Ćuprija. The authors of this exhibition are curators from the Natural History Museum: M. Sci. Gordana Jovanović, Miodrag Jovanović and Dragana Đurić. This will be the second exhibition by Natural History Museum that is erasing all borders between the visitors and the exhibited specimens. The exhibited specimens represent a wide variety of natural objects, grouped so they may be recognized by tactile means. In this way the Natural History Museum did its best to make these previously inaccessible museum objects approachable by public. The specimens were collected both in Serbia and abroad, and for the needs of this exhibition some replicas are made for use with blind persons.

The guest exhibition by Natural History Museum “Skeletons alive” by M. Sci. Milan Paunović was open on Tuesday, May 11th 2010 at the Town Museum in Subotica. The hall of Town Museum was full of visitors, who were addressed by: Mr Ištvan Hulo, Director of Museum in Subotica, Mrs. Dušica Zrnić, curator-advisor of Museum in Subotica, and Aleksandra Savić, PR of Natural History Museum, who had greeted the audience in front of the mother museum.
The opening ceremony was attended by numerous important guests, culture and education professionals from Subotica, elementary school students as well as the numerous friends of Subotica Museum.
